What caused Pneumonia-Neonatal?

In the majority of cases, bacteria has gotten into the lungs causing an infection. This can be the only site of the infection, or pneumonia can be present when there is a generalized infection of the bloodstream also.

The bacteria can get into the baby’s lungs from the placenta, during the delivery process, or after birth. Occasionally, the pneumonia may be caused by viruses or other infectious agents such as chlamydia, a sexually transmitted infection.
